American billionaire Joe Ricketts (chairman and founder of Ameritrade) challenged me to build “The Newsroom of the Future” for New Media News LLC, his New York based digital media company. The result was the creation of DNAinfo.com, now one of New York City’s most popular online news sources.

DNAinfo was named by Business Insider as one of the 6 hottest journalism startups of 2010. Within 18 months of founding the company, we had over 7 million page views per week and over 1.2 million unique visitors per month.

I served for over 2 years as VP and CTO, serving as hands-on product manager and information architect. The newsroom and consumer-facing site was built in the cloud and delivered via web, mobile, and email newsletter.
